On June 6-7, 2024, LAM-PTKes had the opportunity to receive a comparative study from the Sri Lanka Medical Council Accreditation Unit.

Representatives who attended from Sri Lanka were:

1. Prof. Gominda Ponnamperuma - Professor and Head of the Medical Education

2. Prof. Rasnayaka Mudiyanse - Professor in Pediatrics 

3. Prof. S. Sivaganesh - Professor in Surgery

4. Prof. Chrishantha Abeysena - Senior Professor of Medicine

5. Dr. H.D.B. Herath - Registrar, SLMC 

The purpose of this meeting was to find out about accreditation in Indonesia, starting from the beginning of the accreditation process to the results of accreditation obtained by the study program. 

The Sri Lankan team was allowed to see firsthand the Field Visitation process that took place at the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Kristen Indonesia (UKI) Jakarta, and see the facilities at the Faculty of Nursing, Universitas Indonesia (UI) Depok.

In addition, a discussion session was also held between the leadership of LAM-PTKes, the Head of the LAM-PTKes Division, staff representatives, and the Team from Sri Lanka to get to know more about the accreditation of health study programs in Indonesia, as well as LAM-PTKes steps that have explored the implementation of accreditation at the international level. The team from Sri Lanka was also presented with a video of the LAM-PTKes building infrastructure.

We hope that this Comparative Study activity can be useful for both parties and improve good relations between the two.
